Murder suspect gives himself up

BANGALORE, AUG. 14. A 32-year-old man, who allegedly murdered his wife on March 23 in Hebbugodi police station limits, surrendered to the Superintendent of Police, Bangalore Rural, Prashanth Kumar Thakur, on Saturday.

Tauseef Ahmed, a vehicle painter and native of Hassan, had allegedly stabbed to death his wife, Reshma (25), at his house in Singasandra. He had allegedly murdered Reshma suspecting her fidelity, the police said.

After the murder, Ahmed had taken his two sons with him and stayed in Hubli and Belgaum. He was mentally disturbed after his five-year-old son, who was reportedly a witness to the killing, told neighbours in Belgaum that Ahmed had murdered his mother, the police said.

Ahmed recently approached a senior journalist in Bangalore and confessed to the crime. The journalist arranged for Ahmed's surrender, the police said. Ahmed was handed over to the Hebbugodi police.
