Man found murdered in Habbigere

BANGALORE May 22. A badly decomposed, beheaded body of a 35-year-old man was found at Habbigere village in the Gangammanagudi Police limits on Thursday.

The victim's identity is yet to be established.

Police said the man's head, hands and left feet had been dismembered.

The skin had been peeled off in most parts of the body and the skeletal structure was exposed.

The dog squad and finger print bureau, which visited the spot where the body was found, could not get any leads.

A passer-by, Manjunath of Shettarahalli found the body lying amid boulders on a government plot.

He immediately alerted the police through another person. Gangammanagudi Police registered a case of murder.

The body has been shifted to the M.S. Ramaiah Hospital mortuary.

Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police, North, M.C.Narayanagowda, visited the place.

Police are making efforts to identify the victim. Blue coloured pants and Hawai chappals were the only apparel on the body.

Vijayanagar Police arrested Kaleem (18) and Naushad (18) of Heleguddadhahalli, who were involved in chain snatching cases, and recovered two gold chains worth Rs.9,000 from them.

The arrested allegedly snatched gold chains from two women in Vijayanagar Police limits recently.
