Jet-setting for a great race

COME JANUARY 1 it will be the Dubai Marathon 2001. If the runners clock the miles on the ground, Indian Airlines wants to do the same in the skies. It has announced a special holiday package, ``Dubai Flyaways'' valid for two months.

With 13 cities in India being linked directly to Sharjah, Indian Airlines has decided to make the most of the event, adding some leisure as well, Ms. Anita Khurana, General Manager (Sales) IA, New Delhi, said today. The airline has negotiated a special package with the Hotel Astoria and the Dubai Grand Hotel, offering rooms at $ 110 per head for four days and three nights on a twin-sharing basis. Hotels will also arrange for visas at 180 UAE dirhams per visa. Pack in Chennai to Sharjah at adult- Rs.15,435 (Sharjah Dubai transit included).

Mr. T. S. Chandrasekhar, IA Regional Director (South), looks at the experience of promotional offers for the Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and the Colombo sectors, and says the Dubai offer is very attractive. The core event, the marathon, is a-10 km race for adults and 3 km for children, says Mr. Ahmed Al Kamali, Chairman, Dubai Marathon Committee. Log on to www.dubaimarathon.org, to start running.
