Escorts employee killed in hit-and-run case

BANGALORE, FEB. 26. A 27-year-old man was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run case when a car dashed against his scooter near Kwality Biscuit Factory on Mysore Road around 10.45 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Manohar, a resident of Nehrunagar in Yelahanka. He was an employee of the Escorts factory, the police said. The Vijayanagar Traffic Police have registered a case.

Run over by train: A man aged around 25 was run over by a train on Wednesday night. The police said the mutilated body was found on the railway track near Tannery Road on Thursday morning. The Cantonment Railway police have registered a case.

Drowned: Murthy (21), a private factory employee, was drowned in a tank at Bandepalya in Madivala Police Station limits on Wednesday.

The police said Murthy, a native of Nanjanagud taluk in Mysore district, had gone for a swim along with his three colleagues around 5.30 p.m..

Murthy's body was retrieved from the tank around 2.30 p.m. on Thursday.

Chain snatched: A man snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 from Leela Chander in ISRO Layout around 7.45 p.m. on Wednesday.

The police said the man walked up to Leela and snatched her chain. The Kumaraswamy Layout police have registered a case.
