Eight arrested for carrying stolen goods of railways

BANGALORE DEC. 24. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested eight persons for allegedly transporting stolen railway goods worth Rs. 1.91 lakh on Mysore Road.

According to the RPF press release, the railway equipment, including Diesel Engine Generator and Fire Extinguisher, stolen from Microwave Station premises at Borapura of Maddur taluk, Mandya district, was being transported in a lorry.

The RPF intercepted the lorry near Nalanda theatre and seized the stolen material on Sunday.

Abdul Matheen (31), Qurum Ahamed (24), Mohammed Masood (34), Fiaz Pasha (27), Nadeem (21) and Arief Ali (22), all from Mysore, Azeez Pasha (34) and Muneer (28) from the city's Bamboo Bazar were arrested.

The accused were travelling in the lorry, according to a press release.
