Don't read between the lines: Bangarappa

BANGALORE, DEC. 6. S. Bangarappa, former Chief Minister and BJP MP from Shimoga, has said that there is no need for anyone to read meanings in his observations on the election of Jagadish Shettar as President of the State unit of the party.

Speaking to The Hindu , he said there should have been wider consultation before Mr. Shettar was selected.

The MPs and legislators should have been consulted. He was sore that Ved Prakash Goel, who is in charge of the State affairs of the party, announced that there would be no change in the list of office-bearers. Mr. Bangarappa added that he would be with the BJP and was leaving for Delhi on Tuesday to attend the session of Parliament.

Earlier, speaking to a television channel, Mr. Bangarappa reiterated most of what he had stated at a public meeting at Thirthahalli in Shimoga district. He added that every democratic party should allow its members to speak and nobody should be silenced.
