Dental student `abducted'

BANGALORE Oct. 5. A first year dental student was allegedly abducted by a lecturer of her college in J.P.Nagar police station limits on Thursday.

According to a complaint lodged by the girl's father, Kuldip Kumar Malla, the accused, Harish, came to their house in Krishnamraju Layout with his friends and forcibly took away the girl in a car.

The complainant said that the accused had threatened the family and used to make blank calls before the abduction. The girl, he said, was afraid that the accused would fail her in the examination.

Theft in MLC's house

Electrical and sanitary fittings valued at about Rs. 2 lakh were reportedly stolen from the house of Ratna V. Kushnoor, MLC, in R.T. Nagar police station limits. In a complaint, Ms. Kushnoor said that the theft took place between September 18 and October 4. The house was vacant. As the kitchen door was found open, she suspected that the thief might have got in through the back door.
