Axis launches thermal cameras that protect privacy

One of the advantages of cameras with the thermal imaging feature is they detect incidents without revealing the personal details of people in the image. This feature makes them suitable for institutions like schools, care homes and hospitals. Axis Communications, a global leader in network cameras, unveiled AXIS P1280-E Thermal Network Camera, which is an indoor/outdoor device, and has a flexible form factor that allows for the thermal sensor unit to be placed in limited space. It also comes with a set of mounting accessories, both wall, ceiling or recessed installations. AXIS P1290 Thermal Network Camera is an indoor camera protected in a dome casing, for discretion. Martina Lundh, Global Product Manager at Axis Communications, says, together with analytics, these new cameras can trigger alerts in case of emergency situations, such as a patient or resident falling, allowing the staff to take immediate action.
