ECHS official visits Air Force hospital

Lt. Gen (Retd.), V. K. Dua, Managing Director of Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), visited the ECHS Documentation Centre at the Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) and ECHS Polyclinic at 6 Air Force Hospital on Saturday. The official was taken around AFAC and Air Force Hospital by the Commandant of AFAC, Air Commodore V.K. Dayalu and Commanding Officer of No 6 Air Force Hospital, Wing Commander V. R. Dubey. ECHS, at present, has 140 polyclinics and another 87 will be coming up in the near future to cater to all kinds of ailments of ex-servicemen in the country. Mr. Dua addressed the ex-servicemen of Coimbatore and nearby areas and interacted with widows of ex-servicemen and war veterans. Later, he left for Wellington to meet the ex-servicemen there and inaugurate an ECHS polyclinic at the Defence Staff Service College (DSSC) on Sunday.

Seminar on non-conventional energy sources

The Department of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women will conduct a seminar on non-conventional energy resources of biological origin on December 7.

P. Radhakrishna, Director, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Chennai, will inaugurate. About 35 research papers will be presented.
