Gram Sabha

Collector S. Kosalaraman has said Gram Sabhas will be held in all village panchayats in the district on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanthi).

Various development works and schemes for the uplift of the rural masses will be discussed at the meeting, he said in a press release.


Sri Ramana Kendra has organised for October 1 a discourse on "Ramana's Life and Teachings".

`Appoint ward committees'

TIRUPUR: The seminar on empowerment of Municipal Councillors and their role in protecting children's rights has urged the State Government to appoint ward committees in Tirupur Municipality since its population has crossed three lakhs as per the 74th constitutional amendment.

The seminar was organised by the Centre for Social Education and Development on Tuesday.
