THENI, JULY 7. In what is termed a `routine transfer', Ms. S. Jaya, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer, has been replaced. She was the returning officer for the Andipatti constituency, from where the AIADMK general secretary, Ms. Jayalalitha, filed her nomination for the May 10 Assembly poll. Ms. Jaya rejected her papers on the basis of the guidelines issued by the Election Commission.
Mr. K. Pulamadan, who was working as PA (Elections) in Ramanathapuram district, took charge as the new District Backward Classes Welfare Officer here on Thursday.
Ms. Jaya has not been given a posting.
Official sources described her transfer as ``routine'' as it was one among the 50 effected by the Government.
