Telecom officials told to be more consumer-friendly

NEW DELHI SEPT. 6. The two State-owned telecom companies, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, have been asked to make senior officials accountable for delays in attending to phone faults and public grievances. At a review meeting, the Minister of State for Communications, Ashok Pradhan, asked the MTNL and BSNL to get senior officials to monitor complaint cells since both companies incurred revenue loss due to unattended phone faults.

Drawing attention to the increase in the number of surrendered phones, he called upon officials to be more cooperative and consumer-friendly while handling public grievances.
