dated September 22, 1953: Tributes to Thiru. Vi. Ka.

A public meeting mourning the death of T. V. Kalyanasundara Mudaliar was held under the auspices of the Madras Tamil Writers' Association on the 20th evening at "Guhananda Nilayam", Mowbrays Road, Royapettah, when several speakers paid tributes to the eminent departed person for his service to Tamizh literature and to the labour movement. C. R. Srinivasan, editor of Swadesamitran, who presided, referred to his intimate association with Thiru Vi. Ka. from 1916. Thiru Vi. Ka. was one of those who were responsible for arousing in him a passion for Tamizh. He was a man of great learning, and an embodiment of love. His example was worthy of emulation by all public spirited men who wanted sincerity to serve society. P. Sri Acharya said that Thiru. Vi. Ka would ever live in the hearts of all Tamil writers. Messrs. R. Krishnamurthi (Kalki), S. Bhashyam, Puthaneri Subramaniam, Narana Duraikannan and P. Kodandaraman joined in the tributes.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Srinivasan announced his contribution of Rs. 500 to the Thiru. Vi. Ka. Memorial fund. Mr. Akkoor Anantachari contributed Rs. 50.
