dated, November 1, 1952: Suggestion regarding French settlements

Pierre Lazareff, Chief Editor of the newspaper, France Soir, who had just returned from a visit to India, suggested that France hand over its possessions in India to New Delhi in return for special conventions allowing the French to establish technical universities in those possessions. Writing in the magazine `Realities', he deplored the bad relations between India and his country and said they could be easily solved by his proposal for running technical universities, which would be open to all Indians, with the universities themselves allowed extra-territorial privileges.
