dated January 29, 1959: Human values

The Duke of Edinburgh, inaugurating the three-day session of the fifth Management Conference of the Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association in Ahmedabad on January 28, said that industry was not a thing apart from ordinary life, and all forms of management were doomed to failure if they did not take into account the simple characteristics of human nature. He said it was just as important that the people who actually did the work should be satisfied as the consumer whom the industry must supply useful and well finished products at competitive prices.
