Welcome to Hakoba!

The newest outlet for fashion, design and embroidery.

The newest outlet for fashion, design and embroidery.

The first thought on entering the premises is `light'. Soft lighting and light, soothing music. More importantly, it is the lightness of shades all around that strikes the eye. The colours do not exactly jar the eye. How can pastels - the pinks, the blues and the greens, apart from lemon, beige and magenta shades hurt?

That's the scene at Hakoba. Now, don't go thinking `abracadabra'. This is no magic, but the shades do seem to have a magical touch to them at the exclusive showroom, the fourth in the country after Mumbai. Hakoba is the flagship brand of Pioneer Embroideries.

Just for the record, Hakoba was the first modelling assignment handled by the beauty queen of yesteryear, Meher Castellino, Miss India 1965. In Hyderabad recently for the inaugural of the outlet, a beaming Meher described her current assignment - Fashion Designer and a board member with Hakoba, as a ``homecoming of sorts.''

The Managing Director of the Pioneer Embroideries, M.C. Baid, and the General Manager, Marketing, Vivek Kapoor, were full of confidence. ``Our USP is free consultancy of fashion and design. At each of our outlets, we have stationed an in-house consultant, who will deal with clients individually. We hope to have 100 exclusive Hakoba outlets in the country and abroad in the next few years,'' they said.

``There was a time when embroidery and lace work were chosen exclusively by older women, that too especially during the summer. All that is pass now and the younger generation is well and truly hooked onto lace and embroidered works," says Prem Bedi, the Hyderabad franchisee.

The teen tennis from Hyderabad, who is creating waves, Sania Mirza, was all smiles thanking the organisers for having chosen her to inaugurate the outlet. ``Given a chance, I would like to take away as much dress material from here as possible,'' she said. Right now, the outlet has three divisions - sarees, dress material and embroidery and lace material.

The 1,900 sq. ft spread is located on Prenderghast Road in Sindhi Colony. For more details, those interested may contact 55204540 or 55204541.
