Saroo sings for a cause

BANGALORE GIRL Saroo will launch her debut album, Akhian, on Friday at the Taj West End to raise funds for Christel House which works for underprivileged children in the City.

The album is rather different from the current crop of pop music; it reflects different moods and arrangements, with versatility in singing style. You don't feel like reaching for that fast forward button after the first two tracks. There's romance in the lyrics, which blend with Saroo's voice and the music.

The title song is Akhian, and the video will be on TV channels soon. It captures the soul of the song, which is about the infatuation of a college girl for a film star. Never one to miss her favourite star's film, she is completely smitten by him. At the end of the day, when she actually bumps into him, she is left with a feeling, whether it is still a daydream or sure reality.

Saroo is a renaissance woman. She sings, writes, produces, and inspires. She is a real woman, in every sense of the word.
