Pep talk for the youth

THE GLOOMY skies and the mild drizzle did create some anxiety. Yet people kept streaming in to the venue for `Youth Power India 2003', the show organised by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Texcity at the Hindusthan College of Arts and Science grounds.

Soon the sky cleared bringing in smiles on the faces. Shiv Khera's session on motivation and a fly-past by the Indian Air Force were the highlights of the show. Khera began his speech in his distinctive style with a philosophical touch at that.

"Problem is a sign of life. The day you do not have any problems, you will be dead," he said. "Life is full of choices and compromises. If you choose to ill-treat someone, you should be prepared to be ill-treated."

He continued, "We are all free up to the point of choice. After you make the choice, it is the choice that controls the chooser." The chairman of Youth Power India 2003, K.A. Kuriachan, explained the purpose of the show.

The `Pride of Coimbatore Award' was presented to the chairman, SNR Institutions, R. Venkatesalu Naidu, the CMD, Pricol Ltd, Vijay Mohan, the managing director, The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy Ltd, Krishnakumar Warrier, and the chief executive, PSG Institutions, C.R. Swaminathan, during the occasion.
