Parents should pay more

Drivers of autorickhaws, like those of BMTC buses, think they are autonomous bodies and they are above the law.

They get away with traffic violations because of corruption among transport and police departments. If autorickshaw drivers are greedy, many parents are stingy. Parents should not hesitate to pay more if the autorickshaws limit themselves to transporting six children at a time; after all, the lives of the children are more precious. Besides punishment, erring drivers should also be educated on safety rules. The public and NGOs should bring any violation of the norm to the notice of the authorities.
