Overwhelming response

THE 12-DAY combined annual training camp of 28 (TN) Bn National Cadet Corps in Virudhunagar had an overwhelming response from 250 cadets of senior division (college students from Virudhunagar, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli districts) and 400 junior division cadets (school students from two more districts of Ramanathapuram and Tuticorin).

They were trained in weapons, fire-fighting, map-reading, monkey rope, obstacle course and self-defence. Leadership qualities, self-confidence and honesty were also inculcated to them.

The staff led by the camp Commandant, Lt. Col. KJC Jeldo, took part in social activities such as eco-welfare, blood donation, planting of saplings, eye donation, traffic control and removal of plastic materials.

The cadets got special training for selection to the Republic Day camp, New Delhi.
