The Kerala High Court's ban on bandhs notwithstanding, political parties frequently call hartals which invariably take the shape of bandhs. Normal life comes to a standstill just as in the case of bandhs and the public continue to be held to ransom for no fault of theirs. Do you think the court should ban hartals as well? Or, is this a problem which political parties themselves alone can resolve through consensus?
