New role for Katrina

MODEL-CUM-ACTRESS KATRINA Kaif is acting opposite two of the most sought after actors in the Hindi film industry and that too in a movie that has been inspired by the well-known writer Mario Puzo's masterpiece "The Godfather".

Recently in Delhi to unveil a brand of shampoo, Katrina refused to divulge much about Ram Gopal Varma's film "Sarkar" which has both superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek working in it. "I cannot divulge anything about my character or story line. While giving the go-ahead to any film I weigh the pros and cons and accept only those films in which I am comfortable playing the character. I am aware of my limitations."

Katrina's reel role in "Sarkar" is somewhat similar to her real life -- she plays a foreign returned girl. Katrina may not be having a "godfather" in the Hindi film industry, but she has definitely caught the attention of film-makers with her urbane looks, stylish mannerism and anglicised English in director Kaizad Gustad's movie "Boom". "In England, I never interacted with the Asian community. I met the first Asian when I was 17 years old. Even then I decided to take the plunge in Bollywood. It sounded like an unusual decision then, but I believe that if you work hard in the Hindi film industry you are bound to get lots of opportunities," she says.
