Nehru's speech on your mobile

IN A novel offer to its subscribers, AirTel has made available a voice portal on Jawaharlal Nehru's speech to mark the Children's Day celebrations on November 14, 2003.

AirTel subscribers across the State can listen to an excerpt of Nehru's speech - `Tryst with Destiny' - delivered in the Central Hall of Parliament on August 14, 1947, by dialling 64697 on their mobile.

Subscribers can access the portal on November 14 and 15 and the calls would be charged at Rs. 6 per minute. Callers would also get a complimentary ring tone `We are the World' by Michael Jackson.

Proceeds from this offer would go to Udavum Karangal, a home for orphans, destitutes and the disabled.

Announcing the offer, the CEO and Director Mobility, Southern Region, Bharti Cellular Limited, P. Swaminathan, said, "Being an active part of the social fabric, the onus is on us to foster a bright future for the citizens of tomorrow. On Children's Day, AirTel would like to carry this spirit forward."

AirTel customers keen on helping needy children can use the voice portal and make a difference to the lives of children.
