Media's message

Recently, a friend's brother committed suicide. This has prompted me to analyse the phenomenon. The media is a tremendous influence on youngsters. They believe in the flights of fancies projected by films and television soaps. They are taken away from the realities of life. As a result they stop thinking rationally. Moreover, these films and serials portray scenes of suicides and murders very lucidly which may prompt even children to do it. There are incidents reported where children, just for a fun, imitate these scenes in real life and die accidentally. So, the media should restrain itself and try to set good examples.
