Many versions of the Lotus Sutra

ONE OF the most popular Buddhist scriptures, the Lotus Sutra, will form the subject of a unique exhibition on the central text of Mahayana Buddhism, being organised in Delhi.

To be mounted at Bharat Soka Gokkai's International Peace Centre at J-21, Hauz Khas Enclave from October 16 to 20, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, the exhibition will offer much of historic value. Showcasing the many versions of the ancient manuscript, the exhibition will try spreading the powerful message that the Lotus Sutra seeks to impart.

In the past too, the exhibition - which was originally known as Saddharma Pundrika Sutra in Sanskrit - had travelled from India to many countries in Asia, where Buddhism continues to be one of the major religions.
