"A commoner of Visakhapatnam decides to sell his pup. On knowing that it is for sale, a person from Mumbai wants to pay a fat sum, only to be disappointed as the commoner turns down the offer. He rejects the offer of a Keralite and also a Tamilian though they come forward to pay Rs. 2,000 for it. Finally, he sells it to another citizen of Visakhapatnam for a niggardly Rs. 500. When asked as to why did he reject the great deals, he quickly replied saying the pup would return home in the evening, if it's sold in the city."

Sending the crowded audience into peals of laughter in the Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kala Kshetram with numerous jokes like this was the team of enthusiasts of Visakha Humour Club of Visakhapatnam. Marking the State-level comedy play-let contest, the Vizag team enthralled the denizens of Vijayawada with its wit.

Guruswamy, the "reverse gear" fame in Maa TV, rendered the hit number from `Oke Okkadu' - Nelloori nerajaanaa... in different styles. Audience broke into bouts of laughter when he went about rendering the song in the styles of traditional Burrakatha, Harikatha, Quavvali, Hindustani, etc. He said he set a record by singing this song in 25 varied styles. His high range of melodious voice and the magic in it seemed spellbinding. He sung the popular song, Mukkaalaa... mukkaablaa... of `Premikudu' in Burrakatha style. The audience had a rib-tickling experience when he presented the most famous Ammaa ani arachinaa... in the NTR-starrer, `Panduranga Mahatyam', in a style that would have been had A.R. Rahman composed music to it.

Chimmapudi Sreerama Murthy held the audience in rapt attention with his mini poems ending with rhyming words. Pujit's folkdance drew the attention of one and all. L. Venkateswarlu imitated female singers with Bhanumathi's Sharanam nee divya charanam, L.R. Eswari's Mayadaari chinnodu, etc. Archana danced to the foot-tapping number, Ennallaki gurthochhane vaanaa from the latest flick, `Varsham'.

Movie comedian, Gundu Hanumantha Rao, compered the show. The team of artistes of `Amrutham', a noted comedy serial in Gemini TV, unleashed a reign of humour at the ding.

The evening, as usual, had three play-lets - `Darpanam', `Ayyindedo Ayyindi' and `Ee illu ammabadunu'.
