Lacks moral responsibility

Sir, -- The Government could have fixed the fee structure and admission norms right at the time of giving sanction for establishing self-financing professional colleges. The `social responsibility' of private institutions is to make money for their community. To run an institution, money is needed. But when social services get commercialised, society feels insecure. Private institutions should realise that they have a moral responsibility. Financially viable private sector institutions registered under the Charitable Societies Act, should not be allowed to make `undue' profit.
