Just miss?

IF THERE were a tag called `Just Miss', it would surely go to Medha.

Three years ago, she just missed Miss Chennai (but finished first runner up).

Last year, she just missed the Miss India crown, but was voted the Femina Miss India Cyber Queen and she also brought home the Miss India Body Beautiful crown.

This year, Medha Raghunath represented India in the World Miss University beauty pageant organised in Korea. And she just missed the top place, as jinx would have it. But the model did good enough to be placed third in the personality contest, was crowned Miss Health (an equivalent of the Body Beautiful title, she says) and also came second in the talent round.

Quite something considering that models from about 60 countries participated in the 16th edition of the annual pageant in Korea (Ayesha of Nepal came first and Florina of Moldavia finished second).

During the show, Medha performed a fusion of bharathanatyam, kalari and yoga (choreographed by Leena Kinger) and her clothes designed by Rehane too were a hit, we hear. "It was event managers VIBA who suggested that I go for the pageant. Limelite sponsored by skincare and haircare. I had a lot of fun but for the food. Korean food is bad," laughs the model.

But then, she quickly adds: "I guess it's acquired taste. I gorged on the readymade Indian food, the packet variety that you have to put in hot water. The Miss Nepal girl Ayesha who came first, too had a similar problem. So she used to come to my room for the food."
