In the limelight again

The Former Supreme Court judge, K.T. Thomas, is once again in the limelight.

Mr. Thomas was recently in news following his refusal to accept an offer for being the chairman of the inquiry commission probing the expose alleging corruption in defence deals.

Now, according to the information reaching here, he is tipped to be appointed as a member of the National Human Rights Commission.

It was following the resignation of Mr. Venkataswami in November last from the Commission that the name of Mr. Thomas came up for consideration. Declining to accept the posting, Mr. Thomas had stated then that he was not interested in the new offer as he was planning to lead a retired life.

As the new post offered now to him is devoid of any controversy it is not known whether he would accept it.

Mr. Thomas was not available for comments.
