Impart strength

The Jains hold the view that death is the final liberation. They starve to death. Amba consigned herself to flames to be reborn as Shikhandin. `Sati' was another form of self-imposed death. Great men like Hemingway had their own reasons for committing suicide. Some people advocate mercy-killing. Of course, it is a panacea for terminal disease.

Apart from this, we now have consumerism and associated problems. In fact, proneness to suicide is a stress-related problem. It is essential to impart strength of mind at a very early age with the motto "come what may''. Training to build a healthy mind should be part of the curriculum.
