Glimpses of glory

A PHOTO exhibition that captures some of the memorable moments in the life of superstar Mohanlal begins here on Sunday.

The exhibition, `Frame to Frame', is organised as part of `Thiranottam', a high-profile celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mohanlal's career.

The exhibits will not only register the momentous occasions in the career of one of the versatile actors in Malayalam cinema, but also provide glimpses of his life right from childhood.

As many as 500 photos will tell the story of an actor who started as a villain in `Manjil Virinja Pookkal' and went on to display his skills in various roles.

The boy-next-door image, a canny sense of humour and a knack for effortless emoting have been among the characteristics that endeared Mohanlal to the audiences.

A special feature of the show will be Mohanlal's expression of the `navarasas' to the accompaniment of the traditional art forms of Kerala .

In fact, the actor had undergone rigorous training in Kathakali to don the role of a Kathakali `asan' in Shaji Karun's `Vaanaprastham'.

Gouri Parvathy Bayi of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore will inaugurate the exhibition at the Government Women's College at 6-30 p.m.

The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from September 8 to 13.
