Glad tidings for film buffs

RAJ TV'S out to prove that it is indeed the `People's Channel' as it turns 10 on October 14. After having branched into Raj Digital Plus and Raj Music in Tamil and diving into the `Telugu language segment' through Vissa TV, the channel says it now plans to launch a 24-hour trilingual news channel in Tamil, English and Hindi.

There are also plans afoot to float television channels in other South Indian languages over the course of the year.

However, Raj TV says its immediate focus this year will be `filmi entertainment'. In an attempt to keep movie buffs glued to their TV sets the channel will be playing three movies a day from October 14 onwards.

Raj TV will also be introducing two programmes on Monday, October 13. `Inai Kodugal' will be telecast from Monday to Thursday at 11.30 a.m.

And `Cine Mini', which the channel describes as `a quick short shot at a full length film', will be telecast from Monday to Thursday at 10.30 p.m.
