Enters Golden Elephant

Sheroo gives way to the Golden Elephant. Having just brought curtains on the Afro-Asian Games, the city is all set for yet another major event. Main thoroughfares are dotted with the golden hued mascot for the week long International Children's Film Festival, which starts in select theatres in the city on Friday.

But, even as the IMAX complex, the main venue for the fest, was witness to hectic activity a day before the inaugural, the Chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India, Raveena Tandon, was conspicuous by her absence. Organisers were seen squirming uneasily trying to answer queries from media, "where is Raveena?" Several recalled the earlier edition of the film festival when the then Chairperson, Sai Paranjype, landed in the city well in advance. Thankfully, two jury members -- Asha Parekh and Revathy - however, were seen in the city well in advance for the event.
