Dance-drama on life of Jesus

TO COMMEMORATE its 30th anniversary, Delhi's Mount Carmel School is staging a dance-drama, "Mahabalidaan'', on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The multimedia event of the school's drama club has been produced by Neena Williams and scripted, designed and directed by Ravi Taneja.

Involving rhythmic dances, harmonious choreography and excellent video clipping with special light and sound effects and much more, the multimedia event unveils the powerful story of Jesus who died on the Cross of Cavalry for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind.

The men behind the meticulous fusion of vibrant colours are Gautam Bhattacharya and Rajkumar. Choreographed by Sonar Chand, lyrics are by the well known playwright C.D. Sidhu while music is by Veena, Nupur and Saloni. Light designing has been done by R.K. Dhingra.

While three shows of the play were presented at Kamani Auditorium on Wednesday evening, three more will be staged today (Thursday). "This drama is spiritually viable and culturally relevant in the present context of spiritual darkness and moral corruption,'' says a spokesperson for the school.

Established 30 years ago with a vision, Mount Carmel School has striven to live up to it ever since. From a modest beginning, it has grown in strength and structure and has achieved unparalleled all-round excellence in Delhi. It has now established a branch in Dwarka and has plans for further expansion.
