Computer course

DUE TO one reason or the other, physically challenged persons may be unable to do much about their disabilities. However should they also remain educationally handicapped? Definitely not, says the Nilgiris District Rehabilitation Officer, J. Jesuraj.

Accordingly, the District Rehabilitation Centre teamed up with the Seagull Computer Centre to conduct a free computer course for 25 physically challenged boys and girls in the age group 18-35 in Ooty.

A local hotelier, Jayaraman and the secretary of the YMCA (Udhagamandalam), Samuel Howard, distributed certificates to the beneficiaries at a function recently.

Mr. Jesuraj said the programme would be strengthened and as many disabled persons as possible would be made computer literate.
