Community FM

ONE MONTH old and raring to go ... Anna FM, the country's first campus community radio, is all set to enhance its programming content.

There is `Life Style' to begin with, at 7 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, which consists of in depth interviews with underprivileged persons. Every Sunday, there will be an interaction between the community and the Police Commissioner or his representatives, on matters relating to specific areas.

A list of interesting topics such as health, women's empowerment, electronics, entrepreneurship and development will be discussed on half hour slots beginning 7-30 p.m., on weekdays and Saturdays.

This will be followed by a counselling session for Plus Two students who will be taking the Board exams.

Teachers from Anna Gem School will be the resource persons.

Students can phone in their queries.

Also, students with that extra flair and talent in them can contact Anna FM or the Audio Visual Research Centre, if they need a platform to exhibit their skills.

In addition, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, had organised a quiz competition for Plus Two students, to observe the year of scientific awareness.

The project was handled by the Audio Visual Research Centre of Anna University.

Six city schools, including two government schools won the prizes in the Tamil and English quiz contests.
