Classroom for the future pillars

CLASSROOMS ARE places where students are moulded into better individuals. But think of a situation where classrooms are crammed with students. Learning is sure to become a painful exercise in such a situation.

Though the number of schools has increased over the years, many in the rural areas continue to function without adequate number of classrooms.

And there are a number of instances of social welfare organisations contributing funds for such efforts in such cases.

The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Satellite has taken up construction of classrooms at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kannampalayam in Sulur block with contributions from the State Government.

The total cost of the project was Rs.8.5 lakhs of which the club contributed Rs.2.13 lakhs, according to V. Unnikreshnan, the secretary of the club.
