Celestial wonder

The Tamil Nadu Science Forum has organised a `telescope show' to witness the rarest of the rare celestial wonders on August 27, when Mars will come closest to the earth, at its office in Kakkathoppu street.

It is said that the planet will come 3,46,49,589 km closer to the earth, which is estimated to recur after 60,000 years. The Mars would look like another moon, a statement from the forum said.

Kumarasamy, a professor in the American College, would make a presentation with the help of a slide show besides other related information on Mars and Earth, at 6 p.m. For details, contact 2346056.
