Bollywood's latest wonder boy

HE IS Bollywood's latest wonder boy. Or rather the surprise package that the industry was waiting for. John Abraham may not quite enjoy the popularity of Hrithik Roshan or the rave reviews received by Vivek Oberoi, but by presenting the Hindi film industry with the year's first hit, the actor has managed what most of stars failed to do in the last couple of months.

In the Capital these days for the shooting of his new venture "Saaya'' -- another Mahesh Bhatt production -- John is extremely careful while making statements. "I realise that I am just a newcomer and there is no point in my believing that I am a star when I am not,'' being his rather modest confession.

But despite the success of his first film "Jism'', John feels that he has been unable to celebrate or enjoy his first stint with being a winner in this difficult terrain.

``I wish I was out on the streets of Mumbai to get the real reaction from the audience. But I have been so busy shooting for my next film, that I have been hardly able to enjoy my first hit. In any case, strange as it may seem, I had no expectation from the film at all,'' he says.

The model-turned-actor may have taken time to jump on to the movie bandwagon, but he surely seems to be here to stay. With his future ventures including Ahmed Khan's untitled film as well as one that has him pitted against the Big B, one can expect a lot of action from his end.
