Back on the acting seat

FOR JUHI CHAWLA getting back to face the camera again was a little like climbing back on to a bicycle seat after a long break. An actress with a bright smile and an even brighter personality, she has finished with the `naach gaana' routine and is now looking for meatier roles.

"I was a little apprehensive about facing the camera again when I rejoined films last year. It was a little strange wearing all that make-up and all. But then after the first test, I realised that like cycling this was something you never forgot," she said with a smile while here in Delhi this past week to promote her new film "My Brother...Nikhil".

While she was most recently seen in "Jhankar Beats", Juhi has also added another language to her existing repertoire. "The director who made "Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh" made the film. I had seen the film and I liked it, so I knew I was in good hands. I had a really wonderful time. Divya Mann who acted in the film with me is a gifted actress. It was a good team and the cameraman was the same as "Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani", so it was like one big family," she said.

Choosing to do more real roles on reel, Juhi is glad that she has plenty of more options. "In my time there were no multiplexes. We had to draw 900 people into the cinema, so our movies had to be larger than life. But now it is possible to do smaller films like "My Brother.... Nikhil". It is a simple film, but there is something about it."
