Awarding titles

AWARDING TITLES have become a common affair in the Temple City. But, the fact that the noble deed is done by organisations that have cropped- up overnight does raise some eyebrows. What is more surprising is that unheard of titles are awarded to people of high to very high stature.

Top officials, who are invited for such functions, perhaps, face a piquant situation. By refusing the invitation, they would be seen as letting down the talented dignitaries. So, they prefer to be on the safer side. This predicament of theirs is exploited to the hilt by some organisations, particularly, a few which lack credibility in the eyes of the public.
