India, China vow to fight terror hand in hand

Belgaum: The Sino-Indian Joint Military Exercise and Training, “Hand-in-Hand,” concluded on an optimistic note here on Friday, reflecting the growing strategic relationship and military partnership between the countries.

The nine-day exercise, second in the series but first on Indian soil, was symbolic of their growing relationship, even as their armies resolved to deal “together” with the growing menace of terrorism and wipe it out from not only India but the entire Asia.

The exercise was also aimed at furthering the process of building stability, peace and enabling prosperity permanently.

Lt. General Noble Thamburaj, GoC-in-Chief and Commander, Southern Command, Pune, and Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the General Staff, People’s Liberation Army (PLA), at a joint press conference, expressed the hope that the coming together of two professional armies would go a long way in tackling terrorism and strengthening bilateral relationship.
