Students take part in bird watching event

Students of Indian Roller Birdwatching Club from Panchayat Union Middle School, Thalavaipatty, Pethanaickenpalayam, Salem, celebrated National Bird Watching Day on November 12. M. Ravi from Salem Ornithological Foundation and teacher P.Rajangam guided the students to identify the bird species. The students identified more than 40 species including parrot, peacock, black drongo, greater coucal, owl, kite, red wattled lapwing, yellow watted lapwing, ashy woodswallow, kingfisher and wood pecker, among other birds.
