Dharmik Mikkilineni, a tenth standard student of The International School, Bangalore, attended the Presidential Classroom programme from recently at Washington DC. The Presidential Classroom provides students with unprecedented access to leaders who shape America's public policy. The participants examine the role of the government in issues related to scientific discoveries and technological advances. The programme prepares young leaders for responsible citizenship and outstanding high school students are given the chance to explore political processes first hand. Aimed at high school juniors and seniors, the programme offers seven unique and challenging leadership development experiences, focusing on key issues such as business, media, science and technology, law and justice, national security, and international relations. Dharmik attended a seminar on the floor of the US House of Representatives, a seminar with a NASA astronaut, and visited the National Security Agency and National Academy of Sciences.
