Santiniketan School

More than 350 tiny tots of the Santiniketan School teamed up to celebrate the annual day of their school on March 5. The spacious Tagore theatre was the venue where the children displayed their talents on stage. The evening programme was set rolling by the Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr. B. Ashok, who was the chief guest. The school principal, Dr. A. Nirmala, welcomed the gathering. After the formal ceremony was over, the cultural programmes, which lasted for more then three hours, began - all of 24 items. And as per the school policy, every single child was given a role in the cultural programme. The variety entertainment included cinematic dance, group songs, Gujarathi dance, Thiruvathira, aerobics, patriotic dance and other solo performances. The rush of spectators consisting mostly of proud parents, grand parents, uncles and aunts was so great that the organisers had to rustle up extra chairs for the guests. The programme was also projected on to a screen outside the hall. INPUT BY G. MAHADEVAN
