Tulika Gupta believes in living each day as it comes and giving it her personal best. This 12-year old prodigy, who has received many accolades has won more than 65 prizes, both national and international, in painting competitions. Tulika, incidentally means "paint brush,". This Std. VIII student from Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida, is good in academics too. Coming up with an average of 94 per cent in studies, standing first in class, participating in debates, recitations and quizzes, the head girl of Middle section, all India 67th rank holder in the 4th National Science Olympiad, she is an all rounder with an excellent sense of time management, "She even manages us," says her father. Her list of achievements to name a few: CCRT scholarship , bronze medal from Sahitya Kala Parishad, second position in the Camlin painting competition at State level and consolation prize at national level, and the first prize in the Fluor Daniel "Kids safety poster contest" of $100 for two consecutive years, which she terms as "my greatest achievement."

Tulika has been guided by her teacher Asif Mohammad for the past two years at the Bangiya Sangeet Parishad. When asked about her future plans, she was unable to choose between being an engineer or a fashion designer, but then, as she prudently says, "I'm so busy with the present, why think of the future?"
