The merit group that runs the Eikon Academy, an educational institute in Chennai, aims to establish satellite colleges in all the major cities. Eikon, which means image, is an institute dedicated to offering internationally accepted courses for a global career. Harsh Vardhan Reddy, founder Chairman, Eikon, says, "We are providing Robotic Engineering, Masters In Business Administration, and Hotel Management in our curriculum, and as a part of our expansion it is important for us to get into the metro cities."

Providing a unique combination of career-oriented programmes with global placements for students, Harsh Vardhan adds, "We make sure that all the students studying abroad get some part-time job to fulfil their needs. Not only this, we also provide hostel facility."

Affiliated to universities in India, Australia, the UAE, the U.S. and Switzerland, the institute, which has a presence in New Delhi's Connaught Place, claims to offer some of the best courses for Graduate and Undergraduate programmes. "Among the undergraduate programmes is a three year degree course in Hotel Management and Tourism for Stds. XII pass students, and for the X pass student there is a three-year diploma course in Hotel Management. Besides we have launched one new course, Jewellery and Accessory Designing," he says.

As for post graduate programmes, he reveals, "The University offers a two-year Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Administration and a one-year Executive MBA with work experience."

With a campus already existing in Ooty, Harsh Vardhan discloses, "We have a Knowledge Village campus in Dubai, where Indian children can get an international degree at low cost with closer time zones and easy visa processing."

This opportunity to study at Harriot-Watt, Dubai, he points out, is available not only to those who score top marks, but also to those with 45 to 50 per cent marks in any stream.
