The Department of Posts issued a set of six stamps on Indian gems and jewellery on December 7, 2000, each in Rs. 3 denomination.The first stamp portrays a bead necklace from Indus valley. The second shows a turban ornament of the Mughal period. The third stamp features a navaratnamala of the 18th Century. A specimen of Rajasthani temple jewellery is depicted on the fourth stamp. The fifth displays a marriage necklace with the thali, while the sixth shows a necklace of the first Century from Taxila.
