Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam

As part of the animal welfare fortnight, the Animal Welfare Board conducted a programme in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam, recently. Resource person Prema Veeraraghavan initiated the students to start a compost pit in the school campus. She took the students to the compost pit and explained the procedure of growing worms in order to make the soil fertile. Principal V. Jayanthi and Karuna International educational officer, M.C. Appandai Raj, were present. The Karuna Club of the school has received the outstanding Karuna Club award for 2003-2004, for conducting various interschool activities. Gayathri of Std. VI received the Dayawan award.
