Of the many traditions associated with the Chinese Lunar New Year, “Sticky Cake” is one. The cake is steamed as are most Chinese cakes and is made of rice flour and dried fruit. Locals make steamed bread too. According to the Chinese Lunar calendar, the year of the tiger begins on February 14. Steamed bread in the shape of tigers is made to ring in the year.
